Chandigarh: Panic spread across parts of north India on Thursday after bomb threats were reported at court complexes in Punjab’s Moga and Ropar districts, a day after a similar threat led to the evacuation of the Ferozepur judicial complex. The fresh alerts prompted authorities to immediately clear court premises and launch extensive security checks.

Officials said court proceedings in Moga and Ropar were suspended as a precautionary measure, and litigants, lawyers, and staff were evacuated from the buildings. Police teams, along with bomb disposal squads, were deployed to conduct thorough searches of the premises to rule out any potential threat.

Meanwhile, a bomb threat was also reported at the Himachal Pradesh High Court, triggering heightened security and an intensive search operation. Security agencies cordoned off the area around the court complex and carried out detailed inspections following standard operating procedures.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the source of the threats or whether the incidents across different states are linked. Investigations are underway, and cyber teams are examining communication details to trace the origin of the alerts.

No suspicious objects or explosives had been found at any of the locations till the filing of this report. However, security has been intensified at court complexes across Punjab and Himachal Pradesh as a precautionary measure.
