Amritsar — In a major breakthrough, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police dismantled a cross-border narcotics and arms network, arresting six operatives and seizing 4.03 kg of heroin along with two pistols, including a Glock 9 mm and a .30-bore pistol.
According to officials, the group maintained contact with a Pakistan-based handler named Shah through social media platforms. Investigations suggest that consignments of heroin and weapons were pushed into Indian territory using drones in the Khemkaran and Ferozepur sectors before being circulated in Amritsar.
An FIR has been filed at Police Station Gate Islamabad, Amritsar. Police said efforts are underway to trace backward and forward linkages to expose the wider network.
