Ten Rounds Fired at Doctor’s Residence in Jalandhar, Probe Underway

Jalandhar: Panic gripped Santokhpura in Jalandhar after unidentified assailants opened fire outside the home of a medical professional in the early hours of Saturday.

According to initial information, around 10 shots were discharged outside the residence of Dr Yashpal, who is currently serving in Moga. The incident occurred at approximately 1:40 am while his family members were inside the house.

Residents reported hearing multiple gunshots that shattered the silence of the night. On inspection, bullet impacts were found on the exterior wall of the property, the main gate, and a car parked just outside the house. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the firing.

Family members stated that they are unaware of any personal enmity or dispute that could have led to the attack. The motive behind the incident remains unclear.

Police teams rushed to the scene soon after receiving information and cordoned off the area. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from nearby cameras to identify those responsible. Forensic experts were also called to collect evidence from the site.

Authorities have assured that all angles are being explored, and efforts are underway to trace the individuals involved in the firing.
