New Delhi: Former Narcotics Control Bureau officer Sameer Wankhede has filed a defamation case in the Delhi High Court against Shah Rukh Khan’s production company Red Chillies Entertainment and streaming giant Netflix. The case concerns the web series The Bads of Bollywood, which Wankhede claims portrays him in a distorted and defamatory manner.

In his plea, Wankhede alleged that one or more characters in the series bear a strong resemblance to him in dress, mannerisms, and dialogue, leading viewers to believe the depiction was based on him. According to the petition, this portrayal damages his professional reputation and personal image.

Wankhede has sought ₹2 crore in damages and requested a permanent injunction to prevent the further broadcast or streaming of the show. Reports suggest that a character resembling the former NCB officer sparked discussions on social media, fueling the controversy around the series.

The court is yet to hear the matter, and no final order has been passed. Both Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix have not issued an official response to the allegations.
