Amritsar News: The body of Kuljit Singh, husband of AAP sarpanch Satbir Kaur of Mehmad Mandranwala village under Ramdas, was recovered from the Ramdas Road area three days after he went missing, leaving his family alleging that he may have been murdered.
Kuljit Singh, who was also a former Army personnel, had reportedly left home three days ago to collect a certificate for his grandson from Fatehgarh Churian. He did not return home after leaving, following which his family began searching for him.
Family Suspects Murder After Body Found
Kuljit Singh’s body was later recovered from Ramdas Road under circumstances that have raised questions among his family members. After reaching the spot, relatives expressed suspicion that he had been killed and demanded a thorough investigation.
Family members also raised questions over the police response and staged a protest, seeking justice and action in the matter.
MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa Reaches Spot, Seeks Probe
Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa also reached the location after learning about the recovery of the body. He said the family had contacted him on Tuesday evening regarding the matter.
Randhawa alleged that Kuljit Singh’s mobile phone had remained switched on for around 14 hours, while family members were reportedly sent to different locations during the search.
He claimed that the circumstances pointed towards a possible planned murder and demanded a detailed investigation. He also called for a postmortem to be conducted by a medical board so that the circumstances surrounding Kuljit Singh’s death could be established.
Police Await Postmortem Report
The DSP Ajnala said police were investigating the case from different angles. According to the officer, the exact cause of Kuljit Singh’s death would become clear after the police investigation and postmortem examination.
The recovery of the body has intensified the questions surrounding his disappearance, while the family continues to demand a detailed probe into the circumstances that led to his death.
The police investigation and postmortem findings will be crucial in determining whether the death was a case of murder or resulted from another cause.
