Chandigarh: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the disappearance of 328 saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib carried out coordinated search operations at multiple locations across Punjab on Tuesday.

According to official sources, the team conducted searches at nearly 15 sites spanning Chandigarh, Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Ropar. The action targeted residential premises and offices connected to 16 individuals who are facing allegations in the case.

Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, who is overseeing the probe, confirmed the searches and said the investigation was being pursued strictly within the framework of law. He emphasised that the SIT was relying on evidence and facts alone, without external pressure or bias.

Bhullar stated that all material and documentary evidence linked to the case would be formally placed on record as the investigation progresses. He also made it clear that the inquiry would not be diluted at any stage.

“The case will be taken to its logical conclusion,” he said, adding that accountability would be ensured. “Anyone found responsible will face action, regardless of their status or influence.”

The disappearance of the saroops has remained a sensitive and serious issue, drawing widespread attention and calls for transparency. The latest searches signal a renewed push by investigators to uncover crucial leads and bring clarity to the long-running case.
