Thiruvananthapuram: A routine day of fun turned into panic on Thursday after an amusement park ride suddenly gave way under operation in an area under the Venjaramoodu police station limits. At least five visitors sustained injuries in the incident, police confirmed.
According to preliminary information, the ride reportedly malfunctioned mid-operation, leading to its structural collapse and causing riders to fall. Park staff and emergency responders quickly rushed to the scene and assisted in shifting the injured to nearby hospitals for medical care.
Officials stated that, fortunately, none of the injured persons are in a serious condition and all are reported to be stable.
Police have initiated a detailed inquiry to determine the exact cause of the technical failure. Mechanical inspection teams are expected to examine the ride structure and maintenance records as part of the investigation.
Authorities are also reviewing safety compliance measures at the amusement facility to assess whether proper operational protocols were followed.
