CHANDIGARH: An FIR has been registered in the Jalandhar Police Commissionerate following a complaint by Iqbal Singh regarding the uploading and circulation of an edited and doctored video of Atishi, MLA and Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Vidhan Sabha. The video, widely shared on social media, allegedly showed Ms. Atishi making derogatory and blasphemous remarks against Gurus, accompanied by inflammatory captions.

The police spokesperson stated that the video clip, which was downloaded from the social media account of Kapil Mishra, was forwarded to the Director, Forensic Science Laboratory, Punjab, SAS Nagar for a detailed forensic examination. Investigations were carried out scientifically to verify the authenticity of the content.

According to the forensic report dated 09-01-2026, the word “Guru” was not uttered by  Atishi in her audio. The report further confirmed that the video had been deliberately doctored, with captions attributing words to her that she never spoke. The investigation is ongoing, and action is expected against those responsible for circulating the manipulated content.
