LPG Price Hike From November 1: Commercial Gas Cylinder Rates Rise, Check Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata Prices

New Delhi: Commercial LPG cylinder prices have increased from November 1, 2026, adding to the operating costs of hotels, restaurants, dhabas and catering businesses ahead of Diwali. The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has gone up by Rs 10 in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, while Chennai has recorded an increase of Rs 11.50.

However, there is no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders weighing 14.2 kg, which are commonly used for household cooking.

Commercial LPG Cylinder Price: What’s the New Rate?

The revised rates came into effect on November 1, with prices varying across major cities. Following the latest increase, commercial LPG cylinders have become more expensive in all five cities listed below.

Here are the new prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders:

City Price from November 1 Increase
Delhi Rs 2,820 Rs 10
Mumbai Rs 2,774.50 Rs 10
Kolkata Rs 2,964 Rs 10
Chennai Rs 2,994.50 Rs 11.50
Bengaluru Rs 2,908 Rs 10

The increase comes at a time when food businesses are preparing for higher customer demand during the festive season. Commercial LPG is widely used in professional kitchens, making cylinder prices an important component of their day-to-day expenses.

How Will the LPG Price Hike Affect Hotels and Restaurants?

Hotels, restaurants, roadside dhabas and catering services depend heavily on commercial LPG for cooking. The latest price revision could increase their operating expenses, particularly for establishments that use several cylinders every day.

Although the increase per cylinder is relatively small, the additional cost can accumulate over a month for businesses with high LPG consumption. Establishments already dealing with expenses such as food supplies, staff salaries, rent and electricity may face further pressure on their operating budgets.

Whether businesses pass on these higher costs to customers will depend on their individual expenses and pricing decisions. The price increase does not automatically mean that restaurant meals or takeaway food will become more expensive.

Commercial LPG Prices Rise for the Third Consecutive Month

According to the figures cited in the source report, commercial LPG cylinder prices have increased for the third consecutive month across the four major metropolitan cities.

Since August, the cumulative increase has reached Rs 82 in Delhi. Kolkata has recorded a rise of Rs 98.50 over the same period, while Mumbai and Chennai have seen increases of Rs 83.50 and Rs 88.50, respectively.

The successive revisions mean that businesses using commercial cylinders are paying more than they did a few months ago. The latest increase adds to the cumulative rise in fuel costs for the hospitality and food-service sectors.

Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices Remain Unchanged

While commercial LPG has become more expensive, household consumers have received no fresh price increase in the November 1 revision.

The reported prices of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders remain unchanged in the four metropolitan cities:

City Domestic LPG cylinder price
Delhi Rs 942
Mumbai Rs 941.50
Kolkata Rs 968
Chennai Rs 957.50

The source report states that domestic LPG prices were last increased in June.

For now, the latest revision directly affects commercial cylinder users, including food businesses, rather than households purchasing standard 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders.
