Ferozepur: Punjab Police have intensified their action against illegal narcotics trade, with Ferozepur Police making three arrests in two separate operations and recovering a large quantity of contraband items, including heroin, restricted pharmaceutical drugs, ammunition and cash.
According to officials, the operations were carried out as part of an ongoing campaign to dismantle drug supply networks operating in the region. Police teams recovered 5.775 kg of heroin, 1,33,640 prohibited capsules and tablets, 39 cartridges of KF 7.65 calibre and Rs 36,600 in cash from the accused.

Separate cases have been registered under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and other relevant sections at Arif Ke and Mamdot police stations in Ferozepur district.
Police officials said further investigation is underway to identify the wider network linked to the seized contraband. Authorities are also examining the financial transactions associated with the accused to trace the source of funds and uncover possible links with other individuals involved in the illegal trade.
The recovered quantity of heroin and restricted medicines is being treated as a major breakthrough in efforts to curb narcotics trafficking in the border district. Investigators are questioning the arrested persons to gather information about suppliers, distributors and other members of the network.
Ferozepur Police said operations against drug smugglers will continue as part of the broader effort to prevent the spread of narcotics and strengthen law enforcement action across Punjab.
Officials reiterated that strict measures will be taken against those involved in drug-related activities and that coordinated efforts are being made to ensure a safer and drug-free environment in the state.
