New Delhi: Indian cricketer Virat Kohli’s Instagram account was restored on Friday morning after it unexpectedly vanished from the platform overnight on January 30, triggering widespread curiosity and concern among his followers.
Kohli, one of the most-followed athletes globally, was briefly untraceable on Instagram, leading fans to speculate about a possible hack, suspension or voluntary deactivation. The account resurfaced in the morning, bringing relief to millions of supporters who had noticed its sudden absence.
Interestingly, Kohli was not the only one affected. His brother Vikas Kohli’s Instagram profile was also found to be deactivated around the same time. While Virat Kohli’s account has since returned to normal, Vikas Kohli’s profile remained inactive at the time of reporting.
Neither Virat Kohli nor Instagram has issued an official statement explaining the temporary disappearance of the accounts. The incident, however, quickly became a talking point across social media platforms, highlighting the massive digital footprint and influence of the former India captain.
