New Delhi: An IndiGo flight operating from Kuwait to Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad early Friday after a bomb threat was reported onboard, airport officials said.

The aircraft was rerouted to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport as a precautionary measure and landed safely at around 6.40 am with 180 passengers on board. Officials confirmed that no suspicious object has been found so far.

According to airport authorities, the diversion was ordered after a passenger discovered a handwritten note on a piece of paper claiming that a bomb was present on the aircraft. The pilot immediately alerted air traffic control following the report, prompting standard security protocols.

After landing in Ahmedabad, all passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft. Security agencies and airport personnel conducted a comprehensive search of the plane to assess any potential threat.

“So far, nothing suspicious has been recovered,” an airport official said, adding that the aircraft would be allowed to resume its journey only after receiving final security clearance.

Further investigation into the origin of the note and the circumstances surrounding the threat is underway.
