Faridabad— A suspicious Maruti Brezza car was discovered on the premises of Al-Falah University in Dhauj, Faridabad, on Thursday, prompting a swift response from security agencies. The Jammu and Kashmir Police, in coordination with Haryana Police, are investigating the vehicle’s possible link to the recent Red Fort car blast in Delhi that killed 12 people.
Shortly after the alert, a Haryana Police vehicle marked “Bomb Disposal Squad” entered the university campus with several personnel to conduct a thorough inspection. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the car contained explosives or had direct ties to the Delhi explosion.
The discovery comes amid an ongoing nationwide investigation into a suspected terror module involving several residents of Jammu and Kashmir. Officials believe the group may have planned multiple coordinated attacks across different locations.
Fresh CCTV footage recovered earlier this week showed the prime accused, Dr. Umar Un Nabi, entering Delhi through the Badarpur border in an i20 car. He was seen stopping at the toll plaza, handing cash to the collector, and proceeding toward the city — evidence that investigators say strengthens the case against him and his associates.
Investigators also recovered diaries belonging to Dr. Umar and co-accused Dr. Muzammil, which mention dates from November 8 to 12 — a period believed to coincide with the planning phase of the Red Fort blast. The diary reportedly listed around 25 names, most from Jammu and Kashmir and Faridabad, who are now under surveillance.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams, and central agencies continued their joint probe near the Red Fort blast site. The area remains sealed off as forensic experts analyze debris to identify the explosive material used. On Thursday, investigators recovered a human body part near New Lajpat Rai Market, further deepening the mystery around the deadly explosion.
Authorities suspect the Faridabad car discovery and the Delhi blast may be connected through the broader terror network being dismantled across northern India.
