AAP Leader and Bhodiwal Village Sarpanch Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances in Moga

Moga— In a shocking incident, Jaswant Singh, a senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and the sitting sarpanch of Bhodiwal village in Moga district, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his residence in Bhattewala locality. Police sources said preliminary findings suggest he died by suicide after shooting himself.

According to ASI Jarnail Singh from Dharamkot police station, the deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Jaswant Singh, a father of three children. He had reportedly been under mental distress for some time.

Police said that on Wednesday night, Jaswant Singh went to sleep in his room as usual. The next morning, when he did not respond to repeated calls, family members broke open the door and found him lying dead, with a .32-bore revolver nearby.

ASI Jarnail Singh stated that the police immediately reached the spot, took the body into custody, and sent it to Moga Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination. After the autopsy, the body was handed over to the family.

Based on statements given by family members, police have initiated further investigation to determine the exact cause of death. The sudden demise of the young sarpanch has plunged the entire village into mourning. Locals described Jaswant Singh as a friendly and helpful individual who was always at the forefront in serving the community.
