New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate launched widespread search operations on Wednesday morning across properties linked to Karnataka Public Works Department Minister Satish Jarkiholi and his daughter, Member of Parliament Priyanka Jarkiholi. The coordinated crackdown forms part of an active financial investigation being conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Federal investigators deployed teams to approximately 18 locations throughout the state. Among the prominent sites covered in the searches is the 64-year-old minister’s residence situated in the upscale Dollars Colony neighbourhood of Bengaluru. Concurrent operations were also carried out at properties associated with Priyanka Jarkiholi, who represents the Chikkodi constituency in the Lok Sabha.
Agency officials clarified that the ongoing operation stems from a fresh, independent money laundering probe rather than an extension of previous inquiries. Notably, authorities stated that these searches are not tied to the earlier case involving the minister’s brother-in-law, state excise department official Y. D. Manjunath.
The extensive operation was initiated following specific intelligence inputs and is proceeding under tight security arrangements. While investigators continue to comb through documents and digital records at the targeted premises, detailed disclosures regarding the exact nature of the financial transactions under scrutiny remain awaited from the agency.
