New Delhi: Indian carrier SpiceJet has announced the launch of four special services from Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates to assist passengers stranded due to widespread airspace closures across West Asia.
Commercial flight schedules across the region have been thrown into disarray amid heightened tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. With several Middle Eastern corridors temporarily shut, thousands of travelers have faced cancellations and extended delays.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the airline confirmed that the additional flights will connect Fujairah with key Indian destinations, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Kochi. Two of the four services are scheduled to operate to Mumbai, reflecting higher passenger demand on that route.
The airline said the special operations will run beginning Tuesday and may continue over the next few days depending on travel requirements. Officials added that the company is assessing the feasibility of adding further flights, subject to regulatory clearances and the number of affected passengers.
Regular services on the Fujairah–Delhi and Fujairah–Mumbai routes are expected to resume from March 4, according to the carrier.
Airlines across the region continue to adjust schedules as geopolitical developments evolve, while aviation authorities monitor the situation to ensure passenger safety.
