Dehradun: Dehradun and nearby areas remained under a weather watch as dark clouds gathered over the Uttarakhand capital, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of spells of moderate to heavy rain in the coming hours.

The weather agency has forecast the possibility of intense to very intense rainfall in some locations over the next two to three hours. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also expected, prompting authorities to remain alert to weather-related risks.

Amid the weather warning, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is holding a virtual meeting with District Magistrates from all 13 districts of the state at the CM Residence Auditorium in Dehradun.

The meeting is focused on assessing the situation across the districts during the ongoing monsoon season. The Chief Minister is also reviewing the status of development projects currently being implemented in different parts of Uttarakhand.

The review comes as the state remains vulnerable to heavy rainfall and related disruptions during the monsoon. District-level officials are expected to brief the government on local conditions and the progress of administrative and development-related work.

With the IMD warning pointing to potentially heavy spells in the immediate period, authorities are maintaining close watch on weather conditions while the state government reviews preparedness across all districts.
