Kapil Sharma Gets ₹1 Crore Extortion Threat, Accused Arrested in West Bengal

Mumbai: Popular comedian Kapil Sharma was targeted with death threats and an extortion demand of ₹1 crore through calls and video messages made between September 22 and 23. The accused, identified as Dilip Chaudhary, allegedly used the names of gangsters Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar to intimidate Sharma.

The Mumbai Crime Branch tracked Chaudhary to West Bengal, where he was arrested and later brought back to Mumbai. A local court has remanded him to police custody till September 30.

Officials confirmed that the investigation is underway to determine Chaudhary’s exact motive and possible links to organized crime networks.
