Chandigarh: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Sardar Kultar Singh Sandhwan has made a fervent appeal to Punjabis to plant trees to protect the environment for future generations.Expressing deep concern over rising global temperatures, Speaker Sandhwan warned that global warming poses a severe threat to human survival and all living beings on Earth.
He emphasized that the time has come for every individual to take responsibility and plant at least one tree in their lifetime to effectively combat climate change. “Whatever we do for nature, nature will do the same for us,” Sandhwan stated, highlighting the deep, reciprocal bond between humans and the environment. “The more we connect with and care for nature, the more it will protect us and help us progress.”
The Speaker pointed out that trees play an indispensable role in human life by purifying the air and offering a direct solution to today’s heavily polluted environment. Leading by example, Sandhwan shared that he has already planted numerous fruit-bearing trees within the Punjab Vidhan Sabha premises—a legacy that will benefit generations to come. He committed to continuing this plantation drive in the future.
