Suryapet: At least six people died and over twenty passengers sustained serious injuries after a private passenger bus collided with a container truck in Telangana’s Suryapet district early Wednesday morning. The severe crash occurred between 4:30 AM and 5:00 AM near Dorakunta in the Kodad mandal along the highway as the vehicle was travelling from Hyderabad toward Andhra Pradesh with more than forty passengers on board.
The impact was intense, heavily damaging the front portion of the bus and trapping multiple occupants within the mangled wreckage. Local residents and emergency rescue teams, alongside police and fire personnel, quickly responded to the scene to extricate the injured and rush them to nearby government and private healthcare facilities for emergency medical care. Several victims remain in critical condition as doctors continue treatment.
Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the collision. Preliminary reports indicate the bus may have struck the truck from behind, though officials are looking into road visibility, speed factors, and whether the truck was stationary at the time of impact. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed profound grief over the loss of lives and directed administrative officials to ensure the best possible medical assistance for the survivors.
