Hamilton: Hamilton Police have officially identified the man whose body was discovered in a culvert in Stoney Creek on Wednesday as 29-year-old Taranpreet Singh Sidhu. The victim had moved to Canada from India in 2022 and had been working as a transport truck driver in Brampton, following a brief period of living in Halifax. Authorities have confirmed that the homicide unit is treating the case with high priority, noting that the physical evidence suggests Sidhu was not killed in the immediate vicinity of where his remains were uncovered.
While the exact cause of death has been withheld by investigators to protect the integrity of the ongoing probe, detectives from the Hamilton Police Service have partnered with the Peel Regional Police to leverage additional resources. Specialized units have already conducted extensive physical search operations around the recovery site and are systematically reviewing a large volume of digital and surveillance evidence. Law enforcement teams are currently interviewing known witnesses and associates to accurately reconstruct Sidhu’s timeline and movements during his final days.
Investigators believe a specific vehicle was utilized to transport the victim to the Stoney Creek location, though technical details regarding the make and model are being withheld for strategic reasons. Detectives have issued an urgent public appeal for anyone who may have had contact with Sidhu or possesses knowledge of his recent whereabouts to step forward. Area residents and motorists are requested to review their personal security systems, commercial surveillance, and automotive dashcam footage for any anomalies.
