Mumbai: French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Mumbai on Tuesday ahead of his scheduled meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to review progress in the India–France strategic partnership.
The French leader was received at the Mumbai airport by Acharya Devvrat, Governor of Maharashtra, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi welcomed Macron’s visit, expressing optimism about strengthening bilateral cooperation. He said India looks forward to elevating ties across multiple sectors and contributing to global progress through enhanced collaboration.
Macron’s visit is expected to focus on reviewing key areas of cooperation, including defence, trade, climate action and strategic coordination, before the leaders hold further discussions in New Delhi.
