New Delhi: In a welcome relief for businesses and commercial establishments, the prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders have been reduced across the country with effect from today. The latest revision is expected to lower operating costs for restaurants, hotels, eateries and other commercial users that rely heavily on LPG.
According to sources, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by ₹202 in Delhi and ₹209 in Kolkata. Following the revision, the retail price of a commercial cylinder in Kolkata now stands at ₹2,872.50.
The price reduction applies only to commercial LPG cylinders, which are primarily used by businesses and institutional consumers.
Meanwhile, there has been no change in the prices of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders, providing stability for household consumers. Domestic cooking gas rates will continue at their existing levels until the next price revision.
The reduction in commercial LPG prices is expected to provide financial relief to sectors such as hospitality, food services and catering, where fuel costs constitute a significant share of operating expenses.
Oil marketing companies periodically revise LPG prices based on international energy prices, exchange rate fluctuations and other market factors. The latest price adjustment is expected to benefit commercial consumers, while domestic users will continue to pay the previously notified rates.
