CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR — The Cockroach Janata Party announced a new phase of political mobilisation across India on Thursday, framing its upcoming campaign as a continuation of public momentum following the recent resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Speaking to reporters in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, CJP founder and leader Abhijeet Dipke outlined the initiative titled ‘Kya Bolti Public?’, designed to engage citizens directly on systemic issues including escalating education costs, public sector accountability, and social equity.

The movement, which originated as a satirical youth platform in May 2026, recently led a prolonged demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi demanding structural education reforms following national entrance examination irregularities. Following sustained public pressure, Pradhan resigned from his cabinet post on July 25, a development the movement described as a major victory for student activists. Dipke clarified that neither he nor the organisation will enter electoral politics, confirming that the CJP will function strictly as a political pressure group to champion public grievances rather than as a registered political party.

Scheduled to launch in Maharashtra before expanding nationwide in September, the ‘Kya Bolti Public?’ campaign will focus heavily on the financial burdens imposed by rising school fees, coaching costs, and higher education expenses on middle- and lower-income families. Highlighting how basic education has increasingly turned into a commercial enterprise, Dipke cited constitutional principles to emphasize that accessible schooling must remain a fundamental right. The group intends to adopt an active stance on public issues through direct outreach, while demanding the withdrawal of legal cases registered against student demonstrators during earlier protests.
