Mumbai: Residents of a high-rise society in Mumbai were left shaken after a pet dog reportedly turned aggressive and lunged at three young girls inside a building elevator. The entire harrowing sequence was captured on the building’s internal CCTV network, and the footage has since gone viral across various social media platforms, sparking intense discussions online regarding residential safety and pet regulations.

According to local police officials, the alarming event transpired on a Thursday evening at the Sheth Irene residential tower, situated in the western suburb of Malad. The video footage reveals a woman entering the elevator with her canine companion while the three young girls were already occupying the lift. Moments after the doors closed, the animal suddenly became agitated and sprang toward the children, triggering immediate panic within the confined enclosure.
The visual evidence shows the owner attempting to restrain the pet as it repeatedly lunged at the terrified youngsters. As soon as the elevator reached the next floor, one of the girls quickly bolted out of the lift to escape the situation. The dog attempted to pursue her out the door, but the owner managed to pull the leash back in time, successfully preventing any physical harm. Law enforcement authorities later confirmed that the pet owner possessed the required housing permission to use the lift with the animal. They further noted that no injuries were reported from the encounter and no official police complaints have been filed.
