CBSE Confirms Post-Result Services Portal Remained Fully Functional Despite Social Media Rumours

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has clarified that its post-result services portal remained completely operational during the official application window. Responding to recent media reports and social media complaints, the board announced that more than 160,000 candidates successfully used the online system to submit requests for the verification and re-evaluation of over 380,000 answer books. The board confirmed that the portal ran smoothly from June 2 to June 7 under the direct supervision of government technical agencies, IT experts, and specialized teams from the Indian Institutes of Technology.

The educational board addressed specific complaints from parents and students regarding a technical error message stating “Roll Number Not Found.” Officials explained that this notification was not a system failure but a procedural barrier. According to the board guidelines, the re-evaluation process is structured in sequential stages. The error message appeared only for candidates who had failed to apply for the initial phase, which required downloading the scanned photocopies of their answer sheets. Only students who completed that first step were eligible to proceed to the verification and re-evaluation stage.

To ensure the security and integrity of the high-volume traffic, the system was monitored around the clock by cybersecurity teams to block malicious activities and cyber threats. The board also maintained active helpdesks and grievance redressal channels to assist students navigating the applications. This clarification comes at a sensitive time for the national board, which has faced intense scrutiny from Class 12 students who alleged handwriting mismatches on their uploaded scanned answer sheets, prompting concerns over the On-Screen Marking system. In response to the growing controversy, the cabinet secretariat recently appointed a one-member committee to investigate the procurement and operations of the digital marking services.
