Officials said the accused, identified as Sepoy Parul Sharma, opened fire on JCO Surjit Singh using his service rifle. The attack proved fatal, and the victim died on the spot.

After the shooting, the sepoy fled the camp, prompting security forces to launch an extensive manhunt. A lookout circular has been issued to trace and apprehend the accused, who remains absconding.
