Gurugram: A gang operating overseas has allegedly taken responsibility for the gunfire incident outside the residence of YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav early Sunday morning.

An Instagram post, carrying the logo “Bhau Gang Since 2020” alongside images of firearms, claimed that the attack was orchestrated by fugitives Himanshu Bhau and Neeraj Faridpuria, who are reportedly based abroad. The post alleged that Yadav was targeted for “promoting illegal betting apps,” warning others engaged in similar activities of potential consequences.

The message read: “Today, a shooting took place at Elvish Yadav’s house. It was carried out by Neeraj Faridpur and Bhau Ritoliya. He has destroyed many homes by promoting betting apps. This is a warning to all social media influencers — remember, either a phone call or a bullet can reach you at any time.” The authenticity of the post, however, remains unverified.

This is not the first time the gang’s name has surfaced. A few months ago, a member of the same group had claimed responsibility for an attack on singer Rahul Fazilpura’s car in July.

The Gurugram Incident

According to police, three masked men arrived on motorcycles at Yadav’s house in Sector 57, Gurugram, around 5:30 am and fired over two dozen rounds. Bullets damaged windows and glass doors on the first floor of the building. Fortunately, no one was injured as Yadav, who resides on the upper floors, was not at home during the incident.

Sandeep Kumar, PRO of Gurugram Police, confirmed the details: “More than a dozen shots were fired outside Elvish Yadav’s residence. He was not present at the time. CCTV footage is being examined, and further legal action will follow.”

Yadav’s father, meanwhile, expressed shock, saying the family had never received any threats before. “We were asleep when the attackers came. Two of them got off the bike and fired around 25–30 rounds before fleeing. Elvish is currently away for work,” he told reporters.

Investigation Underway

Police teams have begun scanning CCTV footage in and around the area. Officials added that a case would be formally registered once a complaint is filed. Security has also been tightened in the locality, given the nature of the threat.
