Chandigarh, November 23, 2025: What Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has done for the 350th martyrdom anniversary celebration of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is truly heart-winning. CM Mann sent invitations to all opposition leaders himself and proved that at the Guru’s feet, there is only devotion, not politics.
Special invitations were given to Shiromani Akali Dal’s Sukhbir Singh Badal, BJP’s Sunil Jakhar, and Congress’s Raja Warring for this historic event. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann made it clear that this celebration is not for any political gain. He said, “Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji sacrificed himself for humanity and the protection of religion. Today we have all come here, keeping our political identities aside and becoming true servants, to pay respect to Guru Ji’s ideals.”
The Punjab government has truly prepared at a different level this time. There were no political banners anywhere in the entire event, no show of bureaucracy – just service, dedication, and devotion. Every arrangement was so beautiful and organized that lakhs of devotees did not face any difficulty.
It is true that many parties have come to Punjab who have only done politics in the name of religion. But this time, the arrangements that were seen were witnessed for the first time. Where all government officers and ministers were serving as true servants in the langar, helping the devotees.
Grand kirtan darbar, massive langar arrangements, special arrangements for the poor and needy, cleanliness, water, medical facilities – everything was arranged wonderfully. Programs based on Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s life and sacrifice, exhibitions and discourses – everything was very emotional and inspiring.
The common people also praised this initiative wholeheartedly. People said this is true service, this is the teaching of the Gurus. When leaders forget their political differences and come together, it shows that the Gurus’ message is still alive on Punjab’s soil.
CM Mann said in his speech, “We have shown that there is no politics in matters of religion and Gurus. Leaders of all parties should be here together because Guru Ji’s message is for all of us. This unity is Punjab’s real strength.”
The Punjab government’s massive event is truly praiseworthy. It was not only important from a religious perspective but is also a message for the entire country about how, rising above politics, humanity and unity can be kept supreme. This celebration is like a lamp of unity that shows the way in darkness and inspires everyone to walk together.
