CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday chaired a high-level ‘Pragati’ review meeting at the Haryana Civil Secretariat to assess major development projects worth over Rs. 75 crore underway across the state and directed departments to ensure timely completion. Reviewing healthcare infrastructure works, the Chief Minister assessed the progress of the Mother and Child Hospital and Service Block at Faridabad Civil Hospital, where 28 percent work has been completed and completion is targeted by January 2028. He also reviewed the 100-bed Mother and Child Hospital at Sonipat Civil Hospital, being built at a cost of Rs. 138.12 crore, and a 100-bed hospital project at Assandh in Karnal costing Rs. 76.19 crore. He stressed that healthcare infrastructure projects must maintain the highest quality standards.
The Chief Minister also reviewed major infrastructure and development projects aimed at strengthening Haryana’s growth sectors. Officials informed that the International Convention Centre in Sector-78, Faridabad, being developed at Rs. 378.90 crore, has achieved nearly 50 percent progress and is expected to be completed by February 2027. The Maharana Pratap Horticultural University campus in Karnal, being built at a cost of Rs. 422.54 crore, has reached around 43 percent completion. The meeting also reviewed approval for a 90 KLPD multi-feed ethanol plant at Panipat Sugar Mills, along with modernisation initiatives in fire services and disaster management infrastructure.
Focusing on employment generation, Nayab Singh Saini reviewed the implementation of the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) and directed officials to organise more district-level job fairs and strengthen coordination among departments to create skill-based employment opportunities for youth. He emphasised that schemes aimed at connecting youth with jobs must deliver visible monthly outcomes and warned that delays in development projects would be viewed seriously, reiterating the government’s commitment to timely execution and efficient governance.
