Chandigarh: Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda said that the State Government is committed to providing better infrastructure in government schools. As part of this initiative, excellent buildings will be constructed for 118 government primary, middle and senior secondary schools across the State.
The Minister was replying to a question raised by a Member of the House during the Monsoon Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha today. He said that the State Government is committed to filling vacant posts of teachers in government schools and providing basic facilities in a time-bound manner. In addition, administrative powers have been granted to the concerned District Education Officer/District Elementary Education Officer for minor civil works related to infrastructure costing up to Rs. 1,00,000, and to the concerned Additional Deputy Commissioner for minor civil works related to infrastructure costing up to Rs. 25,00,000. This will facilitate the speedy execution of such works at the district level.
