Chandigarh: Amid the impressive performance of Indian athletes at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, Haryana’s women athletes are making the state and the country proud with their performances. Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Empowerment Gaurav Gautam extended his best wishes to the Indian women athletes, particularly the daughters of Haryana, for their outstanding performances at the Games.
He said Haryana’s daughters have once again demonstrated through their hard work, talent and determination that the state is a powerhouse of sporting talent. The Sports Minister said the presence of six daughters of Haryana in the Indian women’s kabaddi team is a matter of immense pride for the state. He said women are today leading the country not only on the sporting field but in every sphere.
Gaurav Gautam said the state government is committed to providing athletes with modern sports facilities and international-level coaching. Through Mission Olympics-2036, special emphasis is being laid on identifying and nurturing sporting talent from the grassroots level.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, initiatives such as Khelo India have helped create a strong sporting ecosystem in the country, the impact of which is now visible in international competitions.
