Chandigarh: The Haryana Government has initiated swift action on the Budget announcement made by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini to promote organic farming on a large scale and increase farmers’ income across the state.
Sharing details of the initiative, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana said the state government is committed to encouraging natural and organic farming.
He informed that farmers registered on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal will be provided a subsidy of up to 80 per cent on organic manure. In addition, to facilitate the sale of organic fertilisers, the government has decided to exempt vendors from the licensing process for smaller packs of up to 5 kg.
Elaborating on the departmental action, Rana said approval has been granted to relax licensing requirements for dealers stocking up to 10 metric tonnes of organic fertilisers, including Fermented Organic Manure (FOM), Liquid Fermented Organic Manure (LFOM) and Phosphate Rich Organic Manure (PROM), in smaller packaging of up to 5 kg. The decision will be implemented shortly.
