Education Minister Urges Citizens to Support Punjab Police in ‘Operation Prahar’

Chandigarh: In a resolute and unequivocal stance to dismantle gangsterism and criminal forces, Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains today hailed the launch of the state’s largest-ever crackdown on gangsters and anti-social elements with ‘Operation Prahar’. The operation signifies Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, gangsterism and organised crime.

The battle for Punjab’s soul and security has been joined under the decisive leadership of CM Mann,” Harjot Singh Bains said while adding that the Punjab Police has launched an unprecedented operation with 2,000 teams comprising over 12,000 police personnel targeting gangsters. The entire force is mobilised to wipeout the gangsters from the Punjab.

Saluting the courage and commitment of the Punjab Police, S. Bains said that 72-hour operation, which began late last night, a coordinated assault. The Chief Minister Mann is personally and closely monitoring every development. This is not a routine action; it is a declaration of war against the enemies of public order.

The Education Minister cited initial reports of encounters in Amritsar and Fatehgarh Sahib as evidence of the operation’s serious intent and immediate impact, while emphasising that the conspiracy to destabilise our beautiful state and our great country ends here.

“We stand firmly with our police. I call upon every citizen, every member of our society, to support the Punjab Police in this critical mission ‘Operation Prahar’. Only together we can build a gangster-free Punjab and secure the future of our future generations. Punjab government will not rest until the menace is eradicated,” he asserted.
