Chandigarh: Renowned Punjabi singer Khan Saab shared an emotional message on social media, revealing the personal pain he is facing while continuing to perform for his fans. The singer, who recently lost both his parents, became visibly emotional during a live session, his voice choking as he spoke about the pressures artists face.
Khan Saab, who is scheduled to perform in Agra, expressed his frustration over the obligations tied to his shows. “It hasn’t even been a month and a quarter since my mother passed away, and only 20 days since my father died. Yet, the organizers don’t understand my pain. The show was already booked. You can’t cancel. I have to perform,” he said, tears welling up as he continued.
He went on to describe the difficult balance between personal grief and professional commitments. “Look, it’s such a compulsion — my parents have passed away at home, and I still have to entertain people, make them dance,” he added.
Khan Saab’s mother, Parveen Begum, passed away on September 26 in a Chandigarh hospital after a long illness. His father, Iqbal Muhammad, died on October 13 due to a heart attack while bathing.
The singer’s heartfelt revelation has struck a chord with fans, sparking conversations about the mental and emotional struggles that performers endure behind the scenes. Many have expressed support and empathy, urging organizers and audiences to recognize the personal challenges artists face while continuing their demanding schedules.
Despite the tragedy, Khan Saab confirmed he would go ahead with his scheduled performances, reflecting the commitment and resilience often demanded in the entertainment industry.
