Ghaziabad: A 27-year-old software engineer, Satyam Tripathi, tragically died after falling from the 31st floor of a high-rise apartment in Saya Gold Avenue Society, Indirapuram, late Sunday night, police said on Monday.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (Indirapuram) Abhishek Srivastava, Tripathi had gone to the apartment with his friend Kartik Singh and a property dealer to inspect a flat. The trio reportedly stayed in the apartment for around 50 minutes before the incident occurred.

Police received information from residents around 9 p.m. and rushed to the scene. Tripathi was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Authorities have retrieved CCTV footage from the building and launched an investigation to determine whether the death was accidental or if foul play was involved. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.

ACP Srivastava added that Tripathi’s friend was the one who informed the police about the incident, and the property dealer was meeting him for the first time that night. Further investigation is ongoing.
