Chandigarh: In anticipation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Panchkula on December 24, 2025, the Chandigarh Traffic Police has released a detailed traffic advisory to manage smooth movement and minimize inconvenience for commuters.

According to the advisory, traffic on key routes such as Dakshin Marg (from Airport Light Point to Tribune Chowk), Purv Marg (from Tribune Chowk to Transport Light Point), and Madhya Marg (from Transport Light Point to Fun Republic Light Point towards Panchkula side) will be regulated in two specific time windows — from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

Commuters are urged to plan their journeys accordingly and make use of alternate routes where possible. The Chandigarh Traffic Police has requested public cooperation with the enforcement personnel to ensure a hassle-free experience during these restricted hours.

Updates and live traffic information will be available through the official social media channels, including Twitter (@trafficchd) and Facebook (Chandigarh Traffic Police), for real-time guidance.

The police department also extended apologies for any inconvenience caused due to the temporary restrictions and thanked the public for their understanding.

This advisory aims to facilitate the smooth passage of the Home Minister’s convoy and maintain traffic order during the high-profile visit.
