Mumbai: In a rare and alarming incident, two AC coaches of the Paschim Express (Train No. 12925) traveling from Bandra Terminus, Mumbai, to Amritsar detached twice while the train was in motion. The first incident occurred in Maharashtra, and the second in Gujarat, raising concerns about passenger safety.

The train departed Bandra Terminus on Sunday at 11:35 AM. Around 1:15 PM, while running between Wangaon and Dahanu Road stations in Maharashtra, coaches A1 and A2 experienced a technical coupling failure and detached from the main train. The train was stopped for approximately 25 minutes, during which the train crew managed on-site technical corrections and resumed the journey around 1:45 PM.

However, the same issue occurred again near Sanjan station in Gujarat at around 2:10 PM. The detached coaches were eventually taken to Valsad station, where technical staff and a special locomotive were deployed to safely attach the coaches and move them onto the platform by 3:15 PM.

At Valsad, the faulty A1 and A2 coaches were replaced with new ones. Passengers were shifted safely to the replacement coaches, and railway staff assisted in transferring luggage and providing refreshments. After confirming all safety measures, the train continued its journey and is now expected to reach Amritsar later tonight, running approximately four hours behind schedule.

Western Railway issued a statement confirming the technical coupling problem and assured that all necessary precautions were taken to ensure passenger safety. The statement added that passenger convenience remains the highest priority and that no injuries occurred during the incident.
