New Delhi: Haryana gangster Harry Boxer, who is wanted in several criminal cases and is believed to be closely associated with Lawrence Bishnoi, has been detained in the United States, Delhi Police sources said.
According to the sources, Boxer was allegedly managing activities of the Bishnoi gang while operating from the US. His detention could bring renewed attention to the network’s overseas operations and its alleged involvement in criminal activities in India.
Boxer had come under the spotlight after taking responsibility for the gunfire incident outside Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence. He subsequently allegedly targeted members of the film industry with threatening messages circulated through social media and audio recordings.
He is facing several cases involving serious offences, including murder, extortion and criminal threats. Haryana Police have listed him among the state’s most-wanted gangsters.
The reported detention is being viewed as an important development in efforts to track gang members operating from outside India. However, details regarding the detention, including the legal process involved and any possible extradition proceedings, were not available in the information shared by Delhi Police sources.
