New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended the timeline for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in six states and Union Territories, including Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Nagaland.
The revised schedules follow formal requests submitted by the respective states’ Chief Electoral Officers. According to official communications issued by the poll body from Nirvachan Sadan on October 29, the changes affect deadlines for filing claims and objections, the disposal of claims and objections, and the final publication of updated electoral rolls.
In Delhi, the deadline for filing claims and objections has been extended to November 25. The notice and disposal process will continue until December 15, while the final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on December 22.
In Maharashtra, the deadline for filing claims and objections has been extended to November 13. The notice and disposal process will continue until November 25. The final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on November 30.
For Andhra Pradesh, the notice and disposal process will continue until November 20. The final electoral roll is also scheduled to be published on November 30.
In Haryana, the notice and disposal phase has been extended until November 20, with the final electoral roll scheduled for publication on November 30.
In Nagaland, the revised schedule sets the notice and disposal phase from September 20 to November 25. The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on November 30.
In Telangana, the notice and disposal process will continue until November 26. The final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on November 30.
The revised timelines provide additional time for the claims-and-objections process in the affected states and Union Territory. Electors should check the applicable schedule for their state or UT to ensure they can raise any concerns about their electoral roll entries within the prescribed deadlines.
