Bathinda Fair Turns Violent as Youth Attack Police, SHO Among Injured

Bathinda: A village fair in Raike Kalan, Bathinda, turned violent late Wednesday when a group of youths attacked the police team that tried to intervene in a clash. Station House Officer (SHO) Ravinder Singh of Nandgarh police station and two other personnel sustained serious injuries in the assault.

According to reports, a scuffle broke out between local youths and outsiders during the fair. When the police attempted to enter the venue to restore peace, the crowd turned on them, attacking the officers. SHO Ravinder Singh and two constables were critically injured and immediately rushed to a private hospital in Bathinda for treatment.

The incident has sparked concern among residents, who have urged authorities to ensure safety during public gatherings and prevent such outbreaks of violence in the future. Police officials said that an investigation is underway and measures are being taken to bring the situation under control.
