Doha: Qatar, Egypt and Türkiye have jointly denounced the ongoing Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, warning that continued attacks on civilian areas threaten regional stability and undermine efforts to secure a lasting ceasefire.

In a joint statement issued on Monday, the three countries—who have played key mediating roles in the conflict—expressed deep concern over strikes that they said had targeted residential areas, healthcare facilities and medical infrastructure, resulting in civilian casualties, including women and children. They described the attacks as inconsistent with international humanitarian law and urged all parties to respect their legal obligations.

The three nations called on Israel to fully adhere to the terms of the ceasefire agreement and honour previously accepted commitments. According to the statement, ongoing military action risks reversing recent diplomatic progress and could further aggravate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The mediators also stressed the need to ensure the safety of civilians, medical workers and humanitarian personnel, while demanding unrestricted access for relief agencies to deliver food, medicine and other essential supplies throughout the enclave.

Appealing to the international community, the three governments urged global powers to intensify diplomatic efforts to ensure implementation of the ceasefire and prevent further escalation. They warned that continued hostilities could jeopardise attempts to achieve a sustainable political solution.

The statement also referred to recent remarks by US President Donald Trump, who had described the latest diplomatic developments as a potential “historic agreement.” Qatar, Egypt and Türkiye said the renewed violence could derail those efforts and prolong the humanitarian suffering of civilians in Gaza.

The joint appeal comes amid continued international concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territory, with mediators pushing for a permanent ceasefire and expanded humanitarian assistance.
