Delhi: The Delhi government has said that the situation on major roads remains under control despite heavy rainfall across the national capital, with all civic agencies working in coordination to prevent large-scale disruption.

According to an official statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has personally reviewed the rain-related situation and directed all departments to remain on high alert. Officials from various agencies have been instructed to respond swiftly to any emergencies caused by the downpour.

The CMO stated that teams from the Delhi Jal Board, the Public Works Department (PWD), and the Municipal Corporation are actively deployed across the city to monitor vulnerable locations and clear waterlogged stretches wherever required.

Authorities maintained that continuous monitoring is underway to ensure smooth traffic movement and minimise inconvenience to commuters. Emergency response teams have also been kept on standby to deal with any unexpected developments during the ongoing spell of rain.

The government said it is treating the situation with priority, with departments working round the clock to manage drainage systems and address complaints from different parts of the city.

The administration has assured residents that all necessary measures are being taken to prevent severe waterlogging and maintain essential public services. Officials have also appealed to people to exercise caution while travelling during periods of heavy rainfall and to follow traffic advisories issued by the authorities.
