Chandigarh : Haryana is set to host a grand cash award distribution ceremony on July 7 to honour its outstanding sportspersons, further strengthening the state’s position as a sports hub. Haryana Minister of State for Sports, Sh. Gaurav Gautam said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the state government will honour athletes who have brought laurels to the nation at national and international competitions. He said the cash award distribution ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on July 7, 2026, at the auditorium of the Public Works Rest House, Panchkula. The Chief Minister will attend the event as the Chief Guest.
The Sports Minister said that a total of 198 outstanding sportspersons who won medals or represented the country in world-level competitions, the Para Asian Games 2022, and national-level competitions will receive cash awards worth Rs. 20.59 crore, which will be transferred directly to their bank accounts.
He said that 117 athletes from world-level competitions will receive Rs. 13.75 crore, three athletes from the Para Asian Games 2022 will be awarded Rs.2.32 crore, while 78 athletes from national-level competitions will receive Rs. 4.52 crore.
Sh. Gaurav Gautam said the Haryana Government is committed to recognising every effort made by its sportspersons. He said the cash awards are a tribute to the hard work and dedication of the athletes, as well as the sacrifices made by their parents and coaches. He added that the awards will be presented by the Chief Minister and himself, further encouraging sporting excellence in the state.
