Delhi: Delhi Police have arrested two more suspects in connection with the firing incident that took place outside a gym associated with Punjabi singer and actor Guru Randhawa earlier this month, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to four.

The latest arrests were made following a brief encounter between the accused and personnel of the Special Cell in west Delhi. According to police, the two men had allegedly been evading arrest since the shooting incident and were being tracked by investigators as part of an ongoing probe into the case.

Officials said law enforcement agencies received intelligence inputs indicating that the suspects had arrived in the area and were allegedly planning another criminal act. Acting on the information, police teams moved to intercept them.

During the operation, the suspects allegedly attempted to resist arrest and opened fire at the police team. Officers responded, resulting in both accused sustaining injuries to their legs. They were subsequently taken into custody and shifted for medical treatment. Police also recovered firearms from their possession.

Investigators believe the arrested men were part of the group allegedly involved in the June 11 shooting outside the gym. Earlier, two other accused had been apprehended by another police unit during a separate operation.

According to officials, all four individuals are suspected to have links with criminal networks associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The investigation has also focused on the alleged involvement of gangster Anil Pandit, who is believed to operate from abroad and has been named during the course of the probe.

Police sources said that shortly after the firing incident, a social media post surfaced in which responsibility for the attack was purportedly claimed. Investigators are examining the authenticity and significance of the online communication as part of their efforts to establish the motive behind the incident.

Authorities have indicated that the attack may have been linked to personal and professional associations within the entertainment industry. However, investigators are continuing to gather evidence and verify all aspects of the case before reaching final conclusions.

The arrests are being viewed as a significant development in the investigation, with police asserting that the detention of all four suspects will help uncover the broader conspiracy behind the shooting.

Further questioning of the accused is expected to shed more light on the planning, execution and possible handlers involved in the case. Security agencies are also examining whether the suspects had links to other criminal activities and whether additional arrests may follow.

The case has once again drawn attention to the challenges posed by organised criminal networks and their alleged attempts to target individuals connected to the entertainment industry.
