Chandigarh – The Haryana Government has placed all field officers on high alert following a heavy rainfall warning issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Officials have been instructed to remain at their respective headquarters and maintain strict vigilance until September 5.
Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, in a directive to Divisional Commissioners, Range IGPs, ADGPs, Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, and Sub-Divisional Magistrates, emphasized the need for preparedness in light of the IMD’s forecast. The department has warned of heavy downpours across various regions of the state, with the added risk of local flooding.
To ensure smooth coordination and timely response, the government has restricted leave for all officers during this period. Any exceptions will require approval from the Chief Secretary or the Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department.
The order comes as Haryana braces for possible flood-like situations, with officials tasked to closely monitor ground conditions and provide immediate relief if necessary.
