Chandigarh : Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij today took a tough stand against illegal colonies, fraudulent land registries, illegal encroachments, pollution, black marketing and other public grievances during the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee meeting held in Yamunanagar. The Minister given strict directions to officers to take immediate and firm action in all such matters.
During the meeting, Sh. Vij directed officers to register criminal cases against the concerned registrars involved in the registration of illegal colonies. In another major action, he ordered the registration of an FIR and arrest of Municipal Corporation Assistant Engineer Deepak Sukhija in connection with an alleged irregular land registry case in Sector-17, Jagadhri.
Sh. Vij was chairing the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee meeting in Yamunanagar. A total of 15 complaints were placed before the committee, out of which 7 cases were resolved on the spot, while directions were issued to resolve the remaining 8 complaints within a stipulated timeframe before the next meeting.
During the proceedings, Mahendra Taneja, a resident of HSVP Sector-17, Jagadhri, raised a complaint regarding the approval and registration of a piece of land on the basis of a property ID. Based on the inquiry report submitted by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Naveen Ahuja, the Energy Minister directed the Municipal Commissioner to register an FIR against Assistant Engineer Deepak Sukhija. Sh. Vij also directed the Superintendent of Police to ensure immediate action and arrest, despite the official having already been transferred.
Similarly, Vijaydeep Singh, a resident of Basant Nagar, complained about the development of an illegal colony on HSVP land near Basant Nagar, Jagadhri. Taking serious note of the matter, Sh. Vij directed the Deputy Commissioner to conduct a detailed inquiry into the action taken by the District Town Planner (DTP) against illegal colonies. He stated that illegal colonies cause significant revenue loss to the government, and later residents demand basic amenities such as electricity, water supply, roads and other facilities from the government. He said that strict legal action should also be taken against officials and registrars involved in such illegal registrations.
During the meeting, on a complaint filed by Anil Kumar, a resident of village Lawana, the Energy Minister directed police officials to record statements in the presence of the village Sarpanch, councillors and respectable persons to ensure a fair investigation. Similarly, Subhash Chand of Yamunanagar raised a complaint regarding the pending payment for the construction work of a government pond. In response, the Executive Engineer assured the Minister that the payment would be released within one month.
On a complaint regarding illegal encroachment filed by Rood Singh, a resident of Laldwara Colony, Sh. Vij directed the concerned department to carry out demarcation and submit a detailed report. Likewise, on a complaint by Singh Ram of village Lawani regarding fake cylinder entries and black marketing by a gas agency, the Minister ordered the formation of a joint inquiry committee under the chairmanship of the Additional Deputy Commissioner to thoroughly examine the agency’s records.
Yamunanagar MLA, Sh. Ghanshyam Dass Arora, Sadhaura MLA Smt.Renu Bala, Deputy Commissioner Ms. Preeti, Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal, Municipal Commissioner, Sh. Mahavir Prasad, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Naveen Ahuja, BJP District President Rajesh Sapra, Mayor Ms. Suman Bahmani, Zila Parishad Chairman Sh. Ramesh Thaska, various SDMs, departmental officers, members of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee and several other dignitaries were present during the meeting.
