Amritsar: Popular Punjabi singer and actor Jasbir Jassi visited Golden Temple on Wednesday night, where he paid obeisance and offered prayers for peace and harmony across the country and the world.
The singer spent time at the holy shrine and described the experience as spiritually uplifting. Speaking to mediapersons after the visit, Jassi said the atmosphere at the “Guru Ghar” always fills him with positivity and inner peace. He added that Sikh teachings inspire values of humanity, unity and selfless service, which remain highly relevant in today’s society.
A large number of devotees and admirers gathered around the artist during his visit to the shrine complex. Several fans were seen interacting with him and clicking photographs. Witnesses said the singer maintained a humble presence throughout the visit and spent time greeting people warmly.
During the interaction, Jassi also voiced concern over the growing drug problem affecting Punjab’s youth. He appealed to young people to stay away from narcotics and other harmful activities, urging them to focus on education, creativity and contributing positively to society.
The singer emphasised that the younger generation has a crucial role in shaping the future of Punjab and the country, adding that awareness and strong family values are essential in tackling social challenges.
Jassi has remained active on social media and in public discussions on issues concerning Punjab. Recently, he had reacted strongly to a meeting involving rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh and BJP leader Tarun Chugh over anti-drug campaigns, where he criticised what he described as attempts to politicise Punjab’s sensitive issues.
His latest visit to the Golden Temple once again drew attention from both devotees and fans, many of whom praised his message against substance abuse and his emphasis on spiritual and social responsibility.
