Mysuru: Actor Ranveer Singh visited the Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysuru early Tuesday morning, offering prayers in a visit that comes amid ongoing legal and industry-related controversies surrounding the actor.

The visit, which was kept largely discreet, reportedly followed directions linked to proceedings in the Karnataka High Court related to the earlier “Kantara” controversy. As per court observations, the actor had submitted an unconditional apology in connection with the matter and was instructed to perform a religious visit within a stipulated timeframe.

Ranveer Singh was seen arriving in a low-profile manner, with reports suggesting he kept his face covered until he reached the inner sanctum of the temple, where he offered prayers to Goddess Chamundeshwari. The temple visit marks compliance with the court’s directive after his revised affidavit was filed earlier this year.

The controversy traces back to a public appearance where Singh was seen imitating a scene inspired by the film Kantara during the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India in Goa. The act sparked backlash from sections of the Kannadiga community, who objected to the portrayal of culturally sensitive elements from the film.

Following criticism, the actor issued a public apology on social media, stating that his intention was to appreciate the performance and not offend any cultural or religious sentiments. He expressed regret if his actions had hurt anyone’s feelings and reaffirmed respect for all traditions and beliefs.

The issue later escalated legally, with an FIR being filed against the actor, although the Karnataka High Court had previously directed authorities not to initiate coercive action while the matter was under consideration.

The temple visit also comes at a time when Singh is facing professional turbulence, including a recent directive from the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, which has called for non-cooperation from its members following his exit from the film Don 3.

Despite the controversies, the actor’s team has maintained that he remains focused on his professional commitments and continues to hold respect for all collaborators and stakeholders in the film industry.

The developments have placed Singh at the center of both legal and industry-level discussions, with outcomes in both matters still awaited.
