Shimla (Himachal Pradesh)– Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the state is passing through one of its most difficult phases as continuous heavy rainfall has disrupted daily life and caused extensive destruction.

Rivers and streams, including the Beas, are flowing above danger levels, while landslides and flash floods in several areas, particularly Kullu-Manali, have left widespread damage. The Chief Minister described the situation as deeply distressing and confirmed that the administration has been placed on high alert.

As a precaution, schools across multiple districts have been ordered closed to protect children. The Chief Minister appealed to the public to follow safety advisories strictly and avoid venturing near swollen rivers, streams, or other high-risk locations.

Sukhu assured that government teams are working with full commitment to relief and rescue operations, emphasizing that the safety and well-being of citizens is the state’s top priority. “This is a testing time for Himachal Pradesh,” he said, adding, “but with unity, prayers, compassion, and caution, we will overcome this disaster together.”
